Business. Life. Well-being.

Google will tell you that officium means "office". We are not office project. Officium translates from Latin as a service or a kindness. In day to day life, most people will tell you that all good things are few, with many bad things piled up in between.
Why is that? Well, with everyone out for themselves, and no one willing to look like the weirdo who helped a stranger, it seems unavoidable. I once stopped playing hacky sack in high school to go stand near the front door. When my friends asked me what I was doing, I pointed to a girl who was walking up with a huge box in her arms. She came up to the door, I opened it for her, and she made it into the building without hassle. Seems fine, right? Well after she entered the building, my friends told me, "That was weird, man." I failed, and still fail, to see what was so weird about opening the door for a girl carrying a large box. No, I didn't know her, but that thought never crossed my mind. She needed assistance, and it seemed the best thing to do. Since then, when I have seen opportunities to help a stranger, I have thought, "No, better not look like a weirdo." Unfortunately, the same problem comes into play when you, yourself, are the stranger needing help. You can't ask a stranger for help. That would be awkward. My goal is to change that. If anyone sees anyone needing slight to major assistance, it shouldn't be a question of, "Should I help them?", it should be, "How can I help them?". You don't need money to do someone a favor, though sometimes it can be of great assistance. Just don't be afraid to lend a hand to a stranger, and walk away without reward. If your goal is to make your own life better, and the only thing getting in the way is other people not cooperating, this is the answer. Please contact us with any questions, or just to tell us how you helped someone, or received aid yourself. |
